When you were a kid what was the ride that you always wanted to go on? Most likely it was a Ferris wheel as these can be found at local fairgrounds, amusement parks and at carnivals/festivals. Well you might have gone on a Ferris wheel where you were a kid, but out list below will tell you about some of the famous Ferris wheels around the world.

London Eye

When people think of Ferris wheels, most likely think of the famous Ferris wheel in London. This Ferris wheel is in movies that you see in movie theaters as almost all the big Hollywood movies that film in London pan over the London Eye. Most people that are tourists in London make sure they get on the London Eye while they are in town. The London Eye opened up in 2000 and has 32 passenger capsules. Some interesting facts about the London Eye include the height of it is 135 meters and the ride will last a total duration of 30 minutes.

 

Singapore Flyer

For a period of time, the tallest Ferris wheel in the world was in Singapore. The Singapore flyer is located across from Marina Bay Sands and an iconic Ferris wheel in South East Asia. At night you can see the entire skyline of downtown Singapore and the F1 Singapore Grand Prix races underneath the Singapore Flyer. High Roller

Up until 2008 the Singapore Flyer was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world. Then the launch of the High Roller in Las Vegas dethroned it and made the High Roller the highest Ferris wheel in the world. This Ferris wheel is a short walk from the Las Vegas strip and is very family friendly. Cosmo Clock 21

In 1989 at the Cosmo World Amusement Park in the town of Yokohama, Japan the world’s tallest Ferris wheel was developed. The name of this Ferris wheel is called Cosmo Clock 21 and is very popular site for tourists when visiting Yokohama. Some interesting facts about the Cosmo Clock 21 include the height of it is 112.5 meters and the ride will last a total duration of 15 minutes.

 

Pacific Park Wheel

At the world famous Santa Monica Pier is a very famous Ferris wheel called the Pacific Park Wheel. What is interesting about this Ferris wheel is that it is operated on solar power. The cool thing about the Pacific Park Wheel is that it sits on the pier over looking the wonderful Pacific Ocean. In the wonderful city of Tianjin, you will see the stunning Tianjin Eye Ferris wheel. The Chinese have been able to create something astonishing that this Ferris wheel that sits on the Yongle Bridge on the Hai River. It is really amazing what they have created with the Tianjin Eye Ferris. Some interesting facts about the Tianjin Eye Ferris is that it reaches a height of 120 meters and the duration of the ride lasts 30 minutes.
